497-117-1-1
An odorless, non-toxic inkjet pretreatment designed to be used exclusively with FastINK white textile ink
Your Price: $78.95

Detailed Description

This is an odorless, non-toxic inkjet pretreatment designed to be used exclusively with FastINK white textile ink. Without this pretreatment on the garment, FastINK White will not work correctly and will not be opaque or washfast.

Important Application Directions: This product can be applied with a mist sprayer, pump sprayer, airbrush or garden sprayer, etc. With the Wagner HVLP Control Spray, included with T-Jet purchase, spray an even coat of pretreatment in the print location. Do not saturate the garment. Dry pretreatment using hair dryer, heat transfer press or conveyor dryer (see below). On darker garment, you can print on partially dry pretreatment for brighter colors and better washability. More pretreatment will help white ink appear brighter; reducing the number of print passes. Excess pretreatment may be a slight effect on washability.

Preparations: Using FastINK Pretreatment#1 for dark garments is very similar to using FastINK FastBRIGHT Pretreatment. Before using, clean out your current sprayer or use a new sprayer. To clean your sprayer, fill the reservoir with hot water and spray until clear water sprays out. Once the sprayer is clean, refill.

Curing Pretreatment: When using a heat transfer press to dry this pretreatment, DO NOT us a Teflon sheet or silicone treated parchment paper to protect the garment and DO NOT clamp the press tight. Simply lower the press to set on top of the garment and use a plain paper (or non-silicone treated parchment) as a protective sheet. Press the garment for 10 seconds at 330°F. Remove the pretreatment paper. Press for an additional 10 seconds. Too much pretreatment may leave a stain on certain garment colors like red, blue and green. Always test fabric color first! Pretreatment can be diluted with 50% water for sensitive garment colors. Lighter garment colors require less pretreatment than black or navy. Garments can be pretreated in advance in batches before final printing.

Curing Finished Print: Fully printed shirts must be heat cured at 330°F (165°C) for at least 60 to 180 seconds (depending on the shirt color) with a heat transfer press, using medium to heavy pressure with silicone treated parchment paper cover; heat transfer paper; or for glossy prints, a Teflon sheet. You can also use a conveyor dryer with multiple passes through a short tunnel.

Warning: This pretreatment is designed to have a chemical reaction with FastINK White. It is VERY IMPORTANT that the T-JET print head does NOT touch a pretreated garment or this chemical reaction can take place in the print head and permanently clog it. Always check the print head and garment clearance before printing.

Handling: Occasional use this product can be done without personal protective equipment. For continued application use rubber gloves and vapor mask for user comfort and protection. USE ADEQUATE VENTILATION WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT.

Storage:
Keep tightly capped in a cool, 50-100°F (19-38°C) area.

Washability:
Wash garments inside out in cold water using a delicate setting on dryer.

Features:

*Required for white on dark prints
